What do I need to know about Eldon Square’s 1st Retail Awards?

We were lucky enough to have been invited to take part in Intu Eldon Square’s 1st Annual Retailer Awards this weekend. It was a celebration of everything Shopping. Ideal for this little shopaholic then!

For those of you not familiar with Newcastle and it’s offerings Intu Eldon Square is the main shopping centre in the city. It houses big named brands from Hollister, River Island and All Saints to regional favourite Fenwicks and the Christmas Advert sensation that is John Lewis.

What do I need to know about Eldon Square’s 1st Retail Awards?

intu Eldon Square – The Shops

As I’ve grown so has the shopping building, with the Intu group taking it over in the last few years and vastly improving it through modernisation. They’ve invested big time and are attracting more and more retailers most notably the newest attraction coming soon is Kiko.

I was first introduced to Kiko last November during my annual Birthday trip to America. We were shopping in Miami and desperate for some foundation I nipped into Kiko. A MAC girl through and through the staff came over and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They even persuaded me to change foundation. Colour matching my skin tone perfectly. Since then I’ve run out and the nearest Kiko is located in Leeds so kudos to Intu Eldon Square for making make up shopping so much easier for me now.

With an addition of 20 restaurants in the newly renovated Grey Quarter arriving 2016. Eldon Square may just take over ‘The Gate’ for the go to destination for food and entertainment. We can’t wait!

I had popped along after a morning on the Town Moor supporting my best friend run the 5K Race for Life. There were stands outside Boots & John Lewis in the main promotional area and there was lots going on, handouts, and flyers, glamorous girls the works.

There was giveaways and I managed to fortunately get my hands on a fabulous goodie bag which consisted of a fabulous tote with the slogan ‘Eat. Sleep. Shop. Repeat’, very appropriate.

A box of Thornton’s Chocolates – The Great British Pudding collection and saying as I’m on a big diet I passed on, but my mum enjoyed them. The Jam Roly Poly was her favourite. A Mason Tumbler from Collectables. Which is absolutely perfect for sitting in the sunshine writing this blog sipping cocktails out of it. However, the pièce de résistance was indeed the L’Occitane Travel Wash Bag Gift Set. It was like they knew. Inside was my all-time favourite soap.

Lavender Shea Butter Extra Gentle. Fortunately, the scent is just delicious and fresh and it lingers lusciously around all day. It’s simply the only soap we buy in our house and what’s even better it’s soft and gentle on skin.

Not only did the soap complete a very pleasant Sunday but the Verveine Shower Gel did too. I truly recommend this shower gel it’s unreal as we say up North. I can always tell a difference with a good shower gel. This not only softens your skin but moreover it smells so clean, fresh and Summery. It has top notes of citrus fruits with a base note of geranium.

Finally in the travel set was hand cream. Essential water which is undoubtedly the best make up remover I’ve ever used. While it’s grease free and doesn’t leave a shiny layer across your face. Finally, hydration cream which is one of my Grandma’s favourites so she managed to snaffle that.
