The Body Shop | intu Metrocentre | New Product Launch

With new lines hitting stores imminently in the run-up to Christmas. It is inevitably a busy time for retailers looking to maximise on the Christmas excess. We headed along to The Body Shop’s intu Metrocentre event in partnership with The Gianni Edit. A local male lifestyle influencer. To check out their new range of products.


Arriving at the event we were all presented with some cute fruity name tags which had hilarious lines on them. Before we were let loose to check out the products.


If you’ve not caught up on my previous Body Shop posts you’ll not know how much I love the Spa Range. From the sumptuous packaging to the aromatic and luxurious ingredients. They allow you to take home a little bit of the spa. Posts from the collection include;

With hand massages on offer, I was first up. Selecting the purple collection from the Spas of the World range which included the African Ximenia Scrub for prep. The Japanese Camillia Cream for a luxurious and moisturising massage and to finish off the French Lavender Massage Oil. I’m a massive massage fan and having had a shoulder and neck massage a few days prior at the John Lewis Beauty Retreat. I was looking forward to this hand massage. It was relaxing and really relieved tension. My skin not only smelled fabulous (of course, lavender is my most favourite smell in the world). The trio of Spa of the World products also left my skin feeling instantly softer and more nourished.


I championed the French Grape Seed Scrub multiple times through the night as it really is my hero product from the whole store. So much so that I had to replace my empty which I finished this morning. The scrub works most efficiently teamed with the Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream and the Thai Makrut Lime Firming Oil. For a cellulite reducing, firming system. I can openly confirm this after seeing a noticeable difference in my skin through continual use.

Personalised Butter

After my massage, I headed to the Body Butter station. This was where we were able to personalise the label on the top of the body butter container. The Body Shop offer this as a complimentary service in all of their stores. Which is great if you’re giving these rich butters as gifts for that added personal touch. There are seasonal options available too. This is a great interactive touch which makes you want to buy.


New Lines

The most exciting new lines added to The Body Shop for me personally are the Vanilla Pumpkin shower gels and butter. The smell just oozes warm Christmas home cooking and smells so cosy.


There are also new products in the Oils of Life range. Which has been specifically designed to help rejuvenated tired and ageing skin, especially around the eyes.

Of course, the face masks in the Spa style brown glass jars caught my eye. Having already become a fan of the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. I was desperate to try out the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask which I think I’ll put on my gift list for Santa. After all, I need to leave some things to receive!


Designer Led Makeup

Interestingly The Body Shop have totally upped their makeup game and have a huge growing collection of both natural hues and bold statement colours. All of which are free from animal testing. Their palettes are to die for. Dare I say they channel Bobbi Brown vibes, they really look every bit as good. Their pigments are great and of course true to form Fashion Voyeur Pixie managed to find the darkest shade of matte lip stain. In the quickest time possible.


Christmas Cracker

With advent calendars progressing from cheap chocolate, the quest for the best beauty advent calendar is amongst us. The Body Shop have released theirs and this year have a selection to choose from based on your budget. With a £45, £65 and £99 option. They have some serious beauty crackers inside.


I actually love the direction The Body Shop is heading especially with their sleeker packaging and more luxurious items. Gianni put on a great event and I just can’t wait to get in the shower for a French Grape Seed Scrub!
