Last night I attended the House of Fraser, Metrocentre’s VIP and influencer event.
Each of the beauty houses had a special offer on or were giving away freebies. The event, hosted by the House of Fraser PR Team. Where they played host to a bar in the middle of the beauty hall which was serving up treats of daiquiri in highball glasses.
As we mooched around the hall we stopped by Estee Lauder as having spent the last few days trialling out different looks on my Mum. She had fallen in love with double wear (just like I had fallen back in love with it not so long ago).
We went to get her colour matched and she was a shade lighter than the Ecru that I wear. If you spend £50 on the Estee Lauder stand there was £10 off and you received a goodie bag of creams and potions. We ended up with two bottles of double wear for £53 with this offer which is a massive steal if you’re a beauty fiend like I am.

Tom Ford
As we walked around House of Fraser beauty, picking up different samples and tips we of course stopped at the Tom Ford counter which plays home to my most favourite perfume, Soleil Blanc. We were then invited up to the treatment room by the beautiful Tom Ford ladies to experience the brand new Private Blend collection.
With an intensely strong woody and green base notes. This collection of the signature blend was perhaps a little too masculine for me. Pixie, from Fashion Voyeur. A fan of the Vert blends likened the collection to the darker side of Tom Ford. Whereas I’m a fan of Soleil Blanc. A light and delicate fragrance we decided that was more Princess and Unicorns. Very fitting to both of our personalities.
As we enjoyed champagne and chatted about the fragrances we learnt all about the top notes and base notes that had gone into the blends to create scents from Tom’s memories.
The fantastic ladies from Tom Ford offer complimentary mini makeovers (you just need to go with a base of foundation and brows). Alongside a free consultation to find your signature scent from all of the eight different collections.
Signature scent for all
My mum, having initially not taken to any of the newest of the three blends realised that an hour or so after she had sprayed Vert des Bois the scent had mellowed. It smelled fantastic. A true testament that you should always leave a scent to settle.
We left the Tom Ford experience and wandered around Urban Decay. Where earlier in the day I had purchased their powder foundation which is absolutely amazing for giving a flawless finish. The new brush collection had me head over heels for every single one. Unfortunately, the brush vault has only been released in the USA as of yet so I won’t be making a purchase until my next trip across the pond.
