Let’s make no secret of it, I adore a pair of falsies. I’m not on about a set of teeth in a glass by the side of my bed, oh no I’m talking about eyelashes.
So can you imagine my excitement when I became a new member of the #lashgang?
I was familiar with the Nouveau Lashes brand as that’s the brand Amy at Mademoiselle Belle uses when carrying out LVL lashes treatment. If you haven’t checked out my favourite salon you can do so here.
Now when I was awoken on Saturday morning at 8.30 by the doorbell ringing. You can imagine I was not best pleased. Upon dragging myself down to the front door I discovered it was the postman, he was bearing gifts.
I signed my squiggle and ran back upstairs and into bed to open my parcel.
As I ripped off the tape and opened the box I was greeted by a bounty. Inside I found 8 styles of lashes. All simply gorgeous (priced at £6.99 each). A tube of ultrabond strip adhesive (£12.99), conditioning serum (£14.99), eye make up remover (£14.99). The consumer pro tool (£29.99), a box of mini combs (£19.99) and a selfie frame (£3.59).
The lashes were all stunning, some a little thicker than others. Perfect for different occasions. Which I was already planning which set to wear when. I couldn’t wait to try them out, I was however, admittedly, a little apprehensive about the adhesive. In the past the lashes I had used previously had all contained their own adhesive and on one occasion had purchased a tube of adhesive. All of these had been left stuck to my eyelids and clumped my lashes together in the past.
I was ready to give it a go though. I prepped my face by using the eye make up remover. Gently sweeping all the make up away from my eyes with cotton pads. I removed my full face of make up with this remover which was fantastic and highly recommended. It didn’t leave a greasy film on my face, it brightened it instead and left a silky touch to my skin, I let it dry and then applied the conditioning serum.
As you know I’m an avid fan of trying to look after myself and my body. At first the only thing I thought perhaps I neglected was my hair but when I read about the conditioning serum I realised my eyelashes were neglected too. I applied the serum just like a regular mascara and let it dry.
I’ve been using the serum for 2 weeks now and I’ve really noticed a difference in how much more healthier and shinier my eyelashes look.
I then used the pro tool which I attached the comb to and brushed through my lashes to ensure they were all even (I then quickly ran it through my brows too!)
I then applied all of my make up and was finally ready…
As I removed Volume Style 1 from the packet with my tweezers and added a small amount of adhesive to the top I waited 25 seconds. I then applied the first lash. It went on so easily and stuck immediately and looked extremely natural.
I was aiming for a soft subtle look with a pink hue to my eyes so the Volume Style 1 lash complimented this perfectly. It was almost as if you couldn’t tell I was wearing false lashes as they were so soft, light and the shape was beautiful.
When it was time to remove them I added a small amount of remover to a clean cotton pad and wiped off all my eye make up.
I took out my tweezers and from the outside I gently pulled them off. The adhesive worked perfectly but it also allowed easy removal with no sticky residue left over. Nor was there any clumping and even loss of my own eyelashes as previously experienced with other brands.
The whole product set was absolutely phenomenal and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the range over the next weeks in my next blog posts.
Keep and eye out for them, whilst you’re waiting why not try out Nouveau Lashes for yourself as they come highly recommended by Elle Blonde. You can shop the full range here and find out which salon local to you uses Nouveau Lashes too!
