5 Things You To Do In Ibiza For An Amazing Holiday

I have to write this post now because I know I can’t help myself as I am literally counting down the days until May 2017. Why? Well, we’re only going on my best friend’s hen do and of course, being a chief bridesmaid I’ve been given the task of planning it all. Something I totally thrive off. Organising events. That’s why we need to plan the best things to do in Ibiza.

So, ladies, we’re going to Ibiza. Flights booked on a cheap deal from Jet2 and a villa story to make you cry. We’ve already got an itinerary and we wish we were all going next week.

A little note to anybody thinking about booking a villa on AirBnB or Home-away – you might end up with 3 villas in Ibiza all booked at once….well that happened to us.

Of course, it did with one booked and then cancelled as the price paid wasn’t the price it should have been…a standard villa owner’s story we then booked another. Then saw a villa for €3 so booked that too – thinking these two villas we had booked would be cancelled as again the price would be wrong. And the owners would request more. We finally decided upon the most beautiful villa at an amazing price.

Side note: we didn’t actually get the villa we booked and paid for, and instead got a rundown villa as the owner apparently ‘sold’ the villa weeks before. The same story she told the lads in the villa next to us too. Who had booked the villa with the same photos as ours.

I absolutely love the white isle and cannot wait to watch that world-famous sunset at Mambos once more. If you’re an Ibiza virgin and heading to the adult’s playground this summer then here are my 5 things you must see or do in Ibiza.

1. Sunset @ Cafe Mambo’s/Cafe del Mar

This is simply one of the most inspiring and moving things. Hoards of people gathering on the rocky ‘beach’ to watch the sunset. At the exact moment of the sunset as the hoards of people start clapping. The fish slap themselves up against the rock. There are always things going on at the front from Lovely Laura playing sax to fire shows and processions. This is the pinnacle of things to do in Ibiza so don’t miss out!

Top tip: buy a bag of ice from the small drinks store just up from Mambos and some boxed wine (€2 – I kid you not it’s like rocket fuel) and find a bucket-shaped hole on the beach, pour your ice in, chill your drinks and absorb the music and atmosphere

2. A boat party

We headed to The Boat the ROCKED from Pukka Up and it was up there with one of our best days in Ibiza. The party started early at Linekers and after walking from our hotel with a bottle of fizz each we arrived to be greeted with shots. Shots. Shots….and more shots.

We all headed onto the boat and as we set sail the music got louder and more bouncy. We partied hard and the on-boat bar was stacked high. The tickets were €40 and included entry to Space on the evening – the boat party lasted a couple of hours so was great value for money.

3. Stay out of the town

We stayed all inclusive at the Rosamar in San Antonio Bay and it was one of the best decisions we made when booking our holiday. With a 15 minute walk into the town or the water taxi a two-minute walk away it was perfect for recuperating during the day with a very tender headache. If you’re not right in the party scene this is a highly recommended thing to do in Ibiza when booking to stay.

The food was fabulous and had a broad range, it changed daily. It was one less thing we had to think about as our meals were provided each day and there were snacks on if we didn’t surface until late.

The barman ensured we always left with a bottle of Spanish fizz each before a night out for our journey, however, prior to going out there was always entertainment on in the hotel on an evening from karaoke to games it was a great start to the evening with our pre-drinks.

4. Centre living

If you’re looking to stay in San Antonio, we picked up a cheap deal on booking.com for the Marco Polo II right behind Eden. The rooms were lovely, the pool was great with lots of cabanas. It comes highly recommended. It is a couple of minutes walk from everything including the bus station where you can explore everything to do in Ibiza.

5. Zoo Project

You’ll have seen the photos, everybody looking AMAZING dressed as zoo animals. The bus picks you up and takes you to an abandoned zoo where each enclosure has a different DJ with amazing mixes and scores of people loving life! It’s a great day and evening – the fancy dress is absolutely amazing some people really push the boat out.

The bus then takes you back to San Antonio after it finishes and we headed to the West End. Where anything goes.

Top tip: plan and take your outfit before you go as fancy dress and makeup shops are extortionate!

6. Ocean Beach Club

One of my favourites. Ibiza’s Ocean Beach (now known as O Beach) is gorgeous and full of beautiful people and is one of the main things to do in Ibiza.

An afternoon of sophisticated drinking and wearing your best swimwear is in order. The vibe is great, people playing in the pools as others lounge on beds. The place is the ultimate in luxury and a complete Ibiza essential.
