Green Tea is one of my big loves in life. Matcha Green Tea, in particular, is my absolute favourite so when Vivid Matcha set their Think Matcha Challenge I couldn’t resist getting involved.
If you’ve never heard of Matcha you’re missing out. I’m a daily Matcha fan. Read about my Dream Matcha Mornings here. A quick overview for those who don’t know about the Green Power that is Matcha. It is a ceremonial tea which originates from Asia and contains powerful antioxidants. It’s also a great metabolism booster and it helps energy and concentration levels. Now you can see why I am Matcha obsessed as are the likes of Kylie Jenner, Gwyneth Paltrow and the Olsen Twins.

While others obsess with physical health we promote the importance of mental wellbeing, clarity and focus. If you’re an entrepreneur, a creative, or a student in the library, we want you to Think Vivid!”
Matcha to Go
Back to Vivid Matcha. A revolutionary and relatively new company with the concept of Matcha on the go. So with that knowledge and the challenge set. I was about to embark on my journey.
Arriving in a large case was a month’s supply of the Original Unsweetened Matcha. However, if you’re looking for something with a bit of a twist they offer a range of 5 flavours including unsweetened, lime, ginger & honey, grape & elderflower, pear & rhubarb and powdered Matcha. I have herd on the tea-line that there are new arrivals this Summer too so keep your eyes peeled.

The Challenge
As I racked them up next to our supply of MOA in the fridge I couldn’t help but get excited about this challenge. Each day I was going to take a creative image for the challenge. Here’s a couple of my favourites from the month.
I love the taste of Matcha, others aren’t so keen. If you’re looking for a tea with the benefits in a single cup of 10 cups of regular green tea then it’s worth acquiring a taste for Matcha as the benefits are amazing. It’s also great for a detox and my skin feels clearer when I religiously drink Matcha. My energy levels are through the roof and admittedly since swapping regular green tea for Matcha Green Tea I’ve dropped fat.
Vivid Matcha comes in handy on the go cartons which you can throw in your gym bag or handbag for easy drinking. I enjoyed the change of matcha iced and with only 3cals per carton, this is a perfect addition to your lifestyle. For even the most health conscious of us.
Health Benefits
Here are five powerful benefits of drinking matcha that make it well worth adding to your daily routine:
1. High in Antioxidants
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, particularly catechins, which are potent compounds that help protect the body from harmful free radicals. Antioxidants are known to reduce inflammation and combat oxidative stress, which is beneficial for overall health and skin clarity. Just one cup of matcha can contain as many antioxidants as 10 cups of regular green tea, giving you a significant health boost with every sip.
2. Enhances Mental Clarity and Focus
Matcha has long been celebrated for promoting a calm alertness, thanks to a unique amino acid called L-theanine. L-theanine helps reduce stress while enhancing concentration and focus, making it ideal for anyone who needs to stay sharp and alert throughout the day. The slow-release caffeine in matcha also provides sustained energy without the jitters, unlike coffee.
3. Boosts Metabolism and Aids Weight Loss
Drinking matcha can be a great support in managing weight. The catechins in matcha, especially EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), have been shown to increase metabolic rate, which helps your body burn fat more effectively. This natural metabolism boost makes matcha an ideal companion for anyone on a weight-loss journey, supporting fat burn while still offering a low-calorie option.
4. Supports Detoxification
The vibrant green colour of matcha comes from chlorophyll, which is known for its detoxifying properties. Chlorophyll helps to cleanse the body of toxins and heavy metals, supporting liver health and overall detoxification. Regularly drinking matcha can therefore support the body’s natural detox processes, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalised.
5. Strengthens Immune System
The combination of catechins, vitamins, and minerals in matcha makes it an excellent choice for strengthening the immune system. Catechins in matcha have antibacterial properties, which help fight off infections, while vitamins A and C further support immune function. Adding matcha to your routine is a simple and effective way to stay healthy, especially during cold and flu seasons.
