9 Chic Eateries at Dollywood That Will Add Sugar, Spice, And Everything Nice To Your Trip
Food and drinks are a significant part of any trip. Most people don’t even consider it a trip unless they have had something from a restaurant at the end of the day. Dollywood is one of the most popular theme parks in America. Paying tribute to the hill folk of American lands, the makers of this spectacular theme park knew what they were doing when they started laying the bricks together.
People across the world visit Dollywood to have family-friendly fun. It does take more than one whole day to visit the entire park and experience most of the rides. When you are walking around exploring and riding, getting hungry is only a natural way for your body to say, “Eat up. We have more Dollywood to explore!”
Fortunately, the eateries there will not disappoint you. There are so many eating spots, so many specialities, and so many cuisines – it is pretty normal to get exhausted and hungry. We have compiled a list of some of the best food spots at Dollywood that will not disappoint you.
Spotlight Bakery steals the spotlight as soon as you enter Dollywood. They know people come in early. So why not leave them surprised with treats? There are plenty of choices for you, which make this bakery a perfect eatery to start your Dollywood trip. Obviously, with so many delectables in front of eyes, it gets challenging to make a choice. Their Mondo Apple Pie is a tourist favourite. Not an apple pie fan? This one may change your mind.
Other than this speciality, they have a fantastic range of desserts – from cinnamon rolls drenched in icing to several types of cookies. However, despite their range, we really recommend that you go for the mondo apple pie. Walking in and out of the bakery gives a rustic vibe. If you are an old-school charmer, this place is a perfect breakfast date.
Front Porch Cafe
Front Porch Cafe is a contemporary setup offering indoor and outdoor seating for its customers. The cafe has a versatile menu featuring vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items for guests who prefer such things. If you have a real hankering for a southern-style menu, this is the right place for you. You can find the cafe in the Show street section.
Recommended by many food bloggers and rumoured to be Dolly Parton’s favourite place – Front Porch Cafe’s meatloaf is their speciality. Their meatloaf is an absolute delight – an irresistible slice of meat and bread. Crunchy on the outside and meaty in the middle with a hint of mustard, this is indeed an all-time favourite. There are several other dishes, from fried chicken to green beans. Everything has a home-cooked vibe – nothing too fancy but doesn’t disappoint the taste buds at all.
If you want to experience what New Jersey was in the ’50s, this place is definitely a hot commodity. This eatery is a perfect place to have lunch. If you are a true American foodie who likes good food, trendy themes, and of course, comfort – this place is your ideal spot every time you visit Dollywood.
Their cheeseburger paired with fries and chilled milkshake of your choice are to die for! Considering the hot summer days of Nashville, the temperature control at Red’s is phenomenal. You certainly won’t be disappointed with your experience here. You can even get your food packed and enjoy at the Pigeon Forge Cabins on your stay.
Jukebox Junction Food Truck
As we always say, it’s not about the place – it’s about the food. This food truck is parked right outside Red’s. If you are still hungry after a cheeseburger meal, try something from Jukebox Junction Food Truck. They offer different varieties of Mac n Cheese. You can have whatever version you like.
They also have other things like burgers; munchable curly fries, and the best of all – sodas to beat Nashville heat. Order a quick bite from here and eat it on the go. The truck is really tall. People above 6 feet have no issues taking their order but, if you are shorter, be careful when reaching out for the food. It’s not like a dreamy basketball player will emerge out of nowhere to help you get your food.
Crossroads Funnel Cake
Enough savouries for the day; if you are longing for something sweet, the best way to do so are to enjoy a funnel cake. Your sweet tooth will surely breathe a sigh of relief as soon as you take a bite of these delectable cakes. Crossroad Funnel Cakes is among the top restaurants in the park. They have a red velvet funnel cake which will literally leave you in wonder and awe. Is it even possible to create such heavenly flavours?
You can customize the funnel cakes with different toppings. Our personal favourite was Reese’s Peanut Butter, but you can also have chocolate, vanilla, fruit, caramel, and other mouthwatering varieties. For most people having the red velvet, wonder is the best part of their Smokey mountain vacation. If you want something cool, go for their hot fudge sundae. The polite staff makes you feel welcome. From treats to service, everything is just perfect at the Crossroad Funnel Cakes.
The best kind of food is when it’s good – and unlimited. If you have more than one day at Dollywood, make your last day a buffet day. We recommend the buffet for people who have more than a day because between food and rides, they are always going to go for the rides.
Spend a day at Aunt Granny’s all you care to eat buffet. They will recommend that you sample everything from their diverse menu. They offer chicken dishes to fish and everyone’s favourite sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, and of course – delicious desserts. Kids will love the buffet because they do feature unique items for the little ones. So, give it a day, and you will come out satisfied, happy, and full with hearty meals by Aunty Granny’s.
Till and Harvest
Till and Harvest is one of the famous and first-opened places in Wildwood Grove. It is located at a quieter location in the offshoots. If you have children or senior citizens with you, this place is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dollywood and calm yourself.
The ambience is quite sedated and calm. Unlike the roller coaster sections of the park, you will actually feel that you are out at a fine dining restaurant. They have the best nachos. You can try that with avocado crème, and that would really keep you hooked for a while.
Flit’ N’ Flutter
When we talk about sundaes, we think of our classic variants like the banana split sundae or your hot fudge sundae from McDonald’s. There is no chance that a person would ever think of a sundae that has churros in it. Well, you really won’t until you visit Dollywood.
The Flit ‘N’ Flutter sundae is also an awesome delectable for those who like things on the sweeter side. It is a perfect blend of churros, ice cream, strawberries, and cherry on top – whipped cream. You can enjoy this treat; savour it for a few minutes. It is a tasty snack for both adults and children, but if your grandma wants a bowl – why not?
