We thought we would test your commitment to your beauty routine by seeking out some of the most shocking beauty treatments undertaken by our famous friends.
Hold onto your seat… and maybe your stomach, here are some of the treatment options we probably would not recommend.
Celebrity Beauty – Kate Hudson
Let us start slow and build you up gradually in this list of shocking treatments. Kate Hudson is undoubtedly beautiful and inherited insanely good genes, but she likes to keep that fresh glowing looking by dunking her face in ice cubes stacked in water and then dabbing her face dry with a towel.
With the advantage of being largely free and based on a pretty decent theory, the actual moment of dipping your face in that bowl of frigid water would be totally shocking. However, it would serve to reduce any inflammation in the face while ensuring you are thoroughly awake.
Who wouldn’t want Halle Berry’s face? Well, to get that fresh glow and taught beauty all you need to do is use old coffee grounds as a body wash and exfoliator. We get the idea, as those old grounds will suck out the toxins and brush off those dead cells.
We also celebrate the sustainability of this option, as she is upcycling her garbage. Yet, smelling like old, stale coffee after the bath, we are not sure we are embracing this idea.
Do you want that straight out the tropics look? You know, the one where your hair is all tousled around your deeply tanned face? Miss Waterhouse manages to get this post tropical look with the aid of a bottle of Coca-Cola.
Apparently, if you wash Coke into your hair after the wash, the texture is perfect. You are also sticky, and your hair is dirty again, right after you bothered to wash it, but details, right?
OK, you are braced for crazy, right? It is Lady Gaga, surely, she injects the poison of snakes into her lips with a builder’s tool? Well, not so bad as that. She uses Sellotape to peg her features back into the perfect shape.
You know, just gather up that sag and pull it up into your hairline – why wouldn’t you. Then, later in the day, allow your make-up artist to remove the product from your face, including probably a lot of the actual skin, with the use of Sellotape too. Ouchy.
But as we have mentioned the venom of snakes, would you believe this is how Gwyneth Paltrow keeps her youthful glow. It’s ok, she didn’t inject it into her face with a builder’s tool. She instead had it made into a cream, so she could rub it into her face.
No snakes were harmed in the making of this cream, as the stem cell transformer cream contains synthetic snake venom. We still wouldn’t kiss her cheek!
You knew she was coming on this list, right? You were waiting. You also get the idea that she really might have injected something weird into her face. And you are right! Kim K chose to try out a Vampire Facial because she read about it somewhere.
Imagine having your blood taken, having all the plasma-rich platelets removed and then having these platelets injected into the skin on your face. Apart from looking a little pink for a while afterwards, we imagine this does help your face keep a youthful glow.
Do you have some money to spare? Could you dive down the back of the couch and pull out over a thousand pounds? If you can, then this is the treatment for you. Ms Diaz keeps those dazzling looks with the help of 24k liquid gold, which she uses as a facial treatment.
Now, while being absurdly expensive, gold does have anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties, which means it is excellent for maintaining your youth.
To be fair to Cameron, she also went for the cheaper option than Mila Kunis. Kunis opted for a five grand facial when she had antioxidant semi-precious gems rubbed over her face while sucking one of those free ice cubes that Kate Hudson uses. But if you have the spare cash, why not spend it looking good!
