If you are a man, who is planning a weekend getaway, this post is especially for you. Using the advice below you can be sure that you will not forget anything important. If you’re used to wearing suave suits and high-end menswear you might struggle for practicality?

A couple of tops

In theory, you can get away with packing one additional t-shirt or shirt. But, it is wise to also pack a just in case change of clothes. If you are not sure what you will be doing during the weekend, make sure that the tops you pack are versatile.

For example, polo shirts like the ones you can buy at Jacamo are an excellent choice. They make it easy for the wearer to fit in anywhere, whether they find themselves in a formal or informal setting.           View this post on Instagram

Trousers or jeans

Even if you think you can get away with just the trousers or jeans you are going to wear for your journey, it is still wise to have a spare set in your bag. What you take is up to you, but, if you will be wearing jeans consider packing chinos.

That way you will be ready for anything. Plus, if you get caught in the rain, you will have something dry to change into.

Do make sure you pack a rain jacket too just in case.

Underwear and toiletries

When it comes to toiletries you only need to take the bare essentials. For a short trip, it makes sense to just pack travel-sized toiletries. Pack the underwear you need. Again, take at least one spare, so if you get delayed you will not be stuck. If space is really tight, stuff them into the spare pair of shoes you pack.

A jacket

Even if you think the weather is going to be good, pack a coat or jacket. Ideally, it should be at least showerproof.

Make sure that the footwear that you use while travelling is comfortable. It is never a good idea to pack new shoes, boots or trainers. The last thing you need is bleeding and painful feet.

Protection from the weather

The items you pack need to protect you from the weather, especially if you are going to be spending a lot of time outdoors. The basic such as sun cream, a hat and sunglasses are always worth packing. If there is a risk it is going to be cold or wet, pack gloves, a scarf and some sort of lightweight waterproof if your coat is not going to keep you dry.

Extras for activities

The above is the essentials. Plus, of course, if you are planning to take part in specific activities you will want to sit down and note down the items you need to do them. You don’t want to arrive for your walking break without your hiking boots.

If you are someone who enjoys taking part in a range of activities make a packing list for each activity. Fortunately, it is not hard to find these online. For example, here is one for a mountain biker. All you need to do is to find one for your chosen activity, download and edit it.
