CO-ORDS
In all honesty, this is my favourite go-to style when it comes to loungewear style, I absolutely love co-ords especially when it comes to fine knitwear. Tailored pieces add shape and are delicate looking so you can still look feminine whilst wearing loungewear.
Co-ords are also great for taking the pressure out of styling as they go together which means less thought about what you’re actually having to put together, you have an instant outfit ready to go. You can also add styling pieces such as blazers and duster jackets to mix up your look.
10 Loungewear Styles You Will Love!
I love a co-ord (if you couldn’t already tell) and think that co-ords are so under-appreciated. They take so much hassle out of choosing an outfit and when you feel put together it makes a huge difference to your entire mood and mental health.
Which given the general consensus of this third lockdown, mental health has been taking more of a battering than previous lockdowns. Perhaps it’s the cold weather? Or the thought of when will this be over?
However, you’re feeling you can lift your mood by throwing on a two-piece and getting a little more dressed up.
ADD LAYERS
We are heavy on layering here when styling loungewear. Simply start off by using different textures or choppy length items to really create a great lounge look. We are loving the three-piece sets which include sweatpants, a top and then a longline cardigan for that put-together look, or you can mix and match your colours and textures too.
NUDES
A nude colour palette is fast becoming my all-time favourite. Again adding a bit more femininity to your look, nude loungewear also looks more luxurious and therefore creates the illusion that answers the most searched loungewear term on the internet how to make loungewear look expensive.
You can opt for all over nudes or run your theme through block colours especially black or white for an impacting look. Also, blush pink works well when it comes to styling your look.
OVERSIZED
Who doesn’t want to be snuggly when working from home? My favourite go-to is oversized hoodies and joggers for the ultimate in comfort for when it’s cold and you want to be cosy.
The more oversized for comfort the better if you’re staying in. If you’re going out then why not switch an oversized piece for a more tailored piece or add a shaped piece such as a blazer or teddy coat to your oversized outfit?
DRESS IT UP
Loungewear doesn’t have to be just for lounging around the house, you can dress up your outfits to create a sports luxe vibe effortlessly. Swap trainers for heels and slippers for a pair of cute flats to really refine your look and take it to the next notch.
Follow in the footsteps of fashion royalty and add chic tailored pieces such as blazers to your loungewear. Adding straight lines and boxy shapes to your relaxed jerseys levels up your look by adding a little bit more glam to your chilled vibe.
CLASH WITH PRINTS
Loungewear doesn’t have to be boring. Clashing prints is a whole statement in itself, prints have been favoured by both celebrities and on the catwalk as bold statements and big business. The more they clash, the greater they look too. Don’t be afraid to print clash too as this will certainly up the ante when it comes to creating a bold look.
ACCESSORISE IT OUT
When you’re styling loungewear, as with any outfit, accessorising is key. Bags, shoes and belts are the main accessories to focus on. Styling with accessories can create multiple looks with one outfit.
It’s easier to buy less expensive dresses and add a pair of Louboutins for example than spend all of your hard-earned cash on a super expensive dress you’ll feel obliged to wear more than once.
HAIR AND MAKE UP
If you really want to look chic instead then you really want to throw in styling your hair and makeup as an essential for creating an incredible put-together look. Cute soft waves and a bold lip go a long way. I don’t know about you but as soon as I throw on winged eyeliner and spruce up my hair I instantly have a mood boost, that teamed with some cute loungewear takes your look to a whole new level.
SHOES MATTER
If you want to level up your loungewear styling then try and avoid wearing the likes of Uggs and sneakers, opt for sandals and pumps to take your look from grunge to gorgeous. If you do want to wear sneakers then do make sure they are dressy and not a pair of gym or track shoes. Block heels and wedges add a sports luxe vibe to your outfit if you are dressing up to stay in too!
STRETCHY PANTSUITS ARE A VIBE
Why wear an itchy shirt when you have the 287428th teams meeting of the week, work from home in a stretchy pantsuit because you know…they are a vibe. Think of this as the pyjama version of wearing a pantsuit but of course, it takes it to the next level in comfort whilst still giving that professional feel.
So loungewear is here to stay until we can throw on the bodycon dresses again, so we may as well look great!
