Have a few avocados lying about that are far too ripe? Or are you looking for a deliciously decadent dessert without the naughty calories? Our vegan, no-bake, clean Messy Mud Pies are the answer for your sweet tooth.

With just 4 ingredients, this is a simple and quick recipe that takes absolutely no time to prepare and make. It’s something every member of the family will love. Got kids that won’t eat their vegetables? Why not disguise an avocado or two with a little chocolate. Just don’t tell them….shhh…

We love these messy mud pies, it means that you’re not spending ages perfecting the look of them. The sloppier the better!

Messy Mud Pies

No-bake, clean, vegan chocolate mousse

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados peeled and stoned
  • 60 grams 70% cacao powder
  • 3 tbsp Manuka honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 handful berries optional

Instructions

  1. Blend avocados in the food processor until completely smooth

  2. Add cacao powder, honey and vanilla extract to the food processor and blend until mixture is completely blended. You might want to use a spoon to mix after blending.

    Taste, if too bitter add a little more honey to taste.

  3. Spoon the mousse into ramekins and add berries to garnish (optional) place in the fridge for an hour to set. Then enjoy.



It’s as easy as that, really simple to make, you can garnish with berries of your choice or even banana. If you’re making these for children, perhaps add some jelly worms and bugs to create that really messy mud pie look!
