Been in NYC nearly 4 days and I’ve not uploaded any big yellow taxis. So here’s half a dozen 🚕. I also don’t have a clue what time it is. Because you know, time dyslexia 🙈. Any recommendations for our last few days in #NewYork? Drop any suggestions below 👇🏼 #NYC #newyorkcity #manhattan #newyorkrecommendations #yellowcab #yellowtaxi #bigyellowtaxi #iheartny #iheartnyc #cab #taxi #newyorklife #newyorktrip #elleblonde #elleblondevaycay #newyorkcityfeelings #happyholidays
1. Manhattan is known as the fine dining capital of America
NYC has some of the best restaurants in the world. Manhattan apartments seem to have smaller kitchens, so professionals in the area tend to eat out a lot. This has been the driving force behind the competition between restaurants in Manhattan. Much to the travellers and locals delight, a myriad of creative and innovative cuisines are available. Whatever your taste, you are sure to find a restaurant that caters to your palate. It is important, therefore, not to over-indulge on accommodations, so that there is more room to explore the many foods that the locals enjoy.
2. Autumn is known as the best time of year in NYC
Autumn is not just the best, but the most fashionable time of the year in NYC. The city has breath-taking features like orange and gold leaves, the weather is cool, and the fashion-forward begin showing off their style. During this time of year, the city hosts its annual Sex and the City-style fashion parade which draws many people from far and wide.
3. Carry walking shoes
The best way to explore the boroughs like Manhattan and Brooklyn is on foot. There is a walkable sidewalk and you can enjoy walking through the neighbourhoods to get to know more about the city. However, be sure to avoid business districts and financial districts during the rush hour period.
4. Don’t just look up, go up
Tourists and travellers tend to stop in the middle of sidewalks to get a glimpse of the city’s tallest buildings. If you plan on doing this, take a seat or take a helicopter ride over the city to get a better view. Be sure to catch a glimpse of the Isle of Manhattan, Top of the Rock observation deck and the Empire State building. If you’re looking to get a great view without the queues, visit rooftop bars such as Pod39 for drinks over the city.
5. Visit Broadway
When visiting NYC, make sure you go to Broadway, irrespective of whether you like theatre. It is known as the best place in the world to see a musical theatre production of the finest quality. You will get “next-day” tickets at a discounted rate of 20-50% off, at a booth in Times Square.
There is so much to see and do in NYC, so ensure that you make a list of all the places you want to see and the things you want to do. Try and get as much in as possible and live amongst the locals to have a truly NYC experience.

When the photographer tells you to strike a @hamiltonmusical pose but doesn’t tell you that you’re using the wrong arm and you look less Hamilton and more Saturday Night Fever 🕺🏼. Not mentally prepared enough to stop posting NYC photos yet so I’m just going to continue with them until I go to Poland in 10 days. We saw #hamiltonmusical in London in October and it was phenomenal. The greatest theatre production I’ve ever seen. Wish we had managed to get tickets and seen it on #Broadway too as it was THAT good. What’s your favourite musical of all time? 🎼 • • #nyc #travelholic #travelling #elleblonde #travelblogger #theatre #bigyellowtaxi #nycityworld #nycdotgram #nycviews #nyc_explorers #travelnyc #elleblonde #elleblondevaycay
