Why are the cancelling?

Ryanair has been forced to cancel all these flights as they’re simply short staffed. Claiming on their Facebook page that they’ve “messed up in the planning of pilot holidays and we’re working hard to fix that”. Having lost 140 pilots this year already to rival no-frills airline Norwegian. They’re struggling with their rotas which is consequently having a huge knock-on effect with all scheduled flights.

How do I know if my Ryanair flight has been cancelled?

Ryanair has already emailed passengers whose flights have been cancelled. In addition, they’ve also stated that flights are scheduled to go ahead unless otherwise specified. If you’re still intrigued for flights between now and March then you are able to check their website to see a full list of the cancelled flights.

What can be done if you’re affected?

EU laws state that you have the right to be rerouted to your final destination shown on your ticket. Either on comparable transport or rebooking at a later date, whichever is most convenient.

You’re able to recover your losses and claim a full refund. You are able to claim with Flight Delay Claims 4 U with ease. Simply head to their site and fill in your details. Then somebody will help assist you in reimbursing you and turning this trauma around.

How can I be compensated?

The general rule is that Ryanair must refund the cost of the ticket. Plus pay £220 (€250) compensation for flights up to 1,500km and £353 (€400) for flights of 1,500km to 3,500km.

However, if the flight is cancelled with more than two weeks notice the airline does not have to pay the EU compensation and is only obliged to reimburse the cost of the flight.

If your flight has been cancelled within seven to fourteen days of the departure date. You’re entitled to compensation unless the airline offers you re-routing that departs within two hours of the departure time.

If your flight is cancelled within seven days EU legislation states the compensation must be paid “unless they are offered re-routing. Allowing them to depart no more than one hour before the scheduled time of departure and to reach their final destination less than two hours after the scheduled time of arrival”
