Finally, today marks the first day of BBC’s Springwatch programme which sees over 100 camera operators working over 50 different cameras. Which therefore brings the ever-changing wilderness to the comfort of your own home.
From birds in their nests to badgers in their sets it sees the nation getting involved with wildlife. With extraordinary streams and beautiful images. It’s a sight to inspire wildlife spotting in your own home.
Lake District Wildlife
Heading to the Lake District to my Grandparent’s home armed with a Boxwild Bird Box under arm we headed for the sunshine. Inside the box, you’ll find three packets of different bird seed mixtures. Including All-Season Mix, Songbird mixture and a Winter mix. On the back of each package, there is a full description of the seeds used. And most interestingly the birds in which it attracts.
From robins and blue tits to giant Herons frequently visiting the garden in the Lake District we were excited to see the birds that would be attracted to the feeder.
Hanging them in a tree where there’s usually a flurry of wildlife activity we filled the feeder with the Songbird mixture and skewered half an apple onto the hanging tree. Then, we waited for the best hummingbird feeder for our garden to work its magic.
