We’re no Mary Poppins, but what’s in your handbag? Our top 5 hand bag essentials

If you read our previous blog on how to get published on The Huffington Post you’ll see that we published our top 5 Leaping Bunny beauty products for May.

Today we’re looking at our top 5 handbag essentials. I’ve drafted in some help of fellow North East Bloggers to give me insight into their top handbag necessity.

We’re no Mary Poppins, but what’s in your handbag? Our top 5 hand bag essentials

Lipstick

Coming in at number 5 is a plethora of lipsticks. A girl can never have too many and mostly in my handbag you’ll find at least 5. You never know what kind of lip day you’re going to have! I’m totally crushing on this Coco Rouge and Tom Ford lipstick at the minute – read about them and my night at Fenwick’s here.

Green Tea

Number 4 sees perhaps the most bizarre essential in my handbag, packets of green tea. You can’t take this girl anywhere without green tea. Now don’t get me wrong green tea isn’t to everybody’s taste but everywhere you go there’s either a green tea shortage or you can’t get a decent cup. I’m a massive Matcha fan but I also absolutely love Jasmine tea.

Diary

Third most important essential in the handbag is undoubtedly my diary. For being as technology dependent as I am lost without a diary. Something that is compact but has a page for each day which is what I need as my time keeping skills are horrendous and I never know where I’m supposed to be.

Luxury Pen

The penultimate item found in my Mulberry is Mont Blanc pen. A gift for my 21st birthday from my Godmother. It’s etched with my name. This pen travels everywhere with me, boxed of course. You might think I’m mad but watch how many extras and upgrades you get when you sign something with a boxed pen. Worth its weight in gold I tell you. It’s so much more glamorous than pulling out a bookies pen I tell you!

Sunglasses

Finally, the one thing I could not leave the house without having in my handbag is my Michael Kors Aviators. I purchased these on Black Friday in Las Vegas two years ago and they’re up there with my favourite buys ever.

With a hefty $360 price tag I managed to snap these babies up for $65 in the madness. I take them wherever I go because you never know when you’ll need to whip them out for the five minutes of sunshine we get in Britain.

Over to the North East Bloggers. I picked 6 of the lovely ladies who shared their handbag secrets.

Firstly my North East Style IDOL Pixie and general all-round cool egg from Fashion Voyeur cannot leave the house without her Beats Headphones, they travel everywhere with her, helping her to think, they close off the world and breed creativity! Pixie also confirms “They’re a higher priority than any makeup or beauty item for me, any day of the week!”

Next up we have Katie who will always carry perfume. She claims no matter how bad you feel or look, a spray of perfume can fix EVERYTHING from other stinky people to a quick pick me up. Oh, another essential is a red lippy too.

North East model Kayleigh Falcus told us here at Elle Blonde that she cannot leave without a lip balm (Carmex or an Organic Mandarin one from Smudge cosmetics.) Having a busy schedule and modelling, Kayleigh finds having something to moisturise her lips after lots of products from shoots and pollution in cities, lip balm is a live saver! It also adds a sheen to the lips and can just make your face pop too without any other makeup!

Chic Mamma of Louise Northwood simply will not leave home without a small pack of wet wipes..invaluable for most catastrophes. We agree!

There’s always one

My favourite comes from Cheryl, from All Round Creative Junkie her words were “For me, it’s a tape measure! I have one in nearly every bag. If I come across a piece of furniture in a charity shop or junk shop I need to know it’s going to fit. Yes, I’m a lunatic!”

Last but no means least beauty addict Juleigh claims that the Chanel Rouge Coco Baume is always a handbag essential, especially when talking all day it is much needed. The Chanel fan says “it’s my little lifesaver always in my pocket and lasts forever”
