Hogsozzle. What? You heard me Hogsozzle.
No I’m not drunk (yet), I’m on about one of this year’s most wild festivals. Set in the countryside of Stevenage, Hertford Hogsozzle is a festival with a difference. In it’s sixth year the team ‘Team Ridiculous’ promise to bring an amazing musical line up, with some favourite faces from previous Hogsozzle’s and some new fresh faces the music isn’t all that’s to be enjoyed.
Over the weekend there will be drinking, lots of drinking and lots of food. They have unlimited hog roast for all those attending as well as a host of food stalls bringing exotic foods from around the globe. Their drinks policy allows festival goers to bring in a limited amount of alcohol and then use drinks tokens to carry on drinking on site.
The mad hogs who organise Hogsozzle organise a massive paint fight so they ask you to bring something old and white for the legendary event. WARNING: IT’S NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED.
The best part about Hogsozzle? Personally for me is the fact it’s mandatory fancy dress. You must have read my SMIFFYS Easter post right? Where I dressed up as a duck? No? Read it here man, don’t you be missing out on that treat!
Anyways back to business. Fancy dress. Yeah. Festival fancy dress. You can see how excited I am about it. Like I LOVE fancy dress. These two are my ultimate favourite fancy dress costumes. Never was there a fairy or a ballet dancer to be seen when I was around. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ALL THE WAY!!!
When this year’s theme was announced, well I couldn’t even contain my excitement. Childhood Dreams. YES. What an absolute treat. I’d go back to my childhood tomorrow if I could. No dramas, living carefree. It’s lovely to dream but what about if I could stand in a field, prosecco in hand dressed as a mermaid, a pirate, a princess. Perhaps I could EVENTUALLY become the Pink Power Ranger. Imagine that? Throwing off the shackles of society to become a drunken, hog eating child. Now that’s the life.
Previous years have included Circus & Carnival, Animal, Film Characters and more.
