Will an Ooh-arr face mask leave my face feeling fresh?

Working from home generally, means that my ‘uniform’ consists of a fluffy onesie or pair of yoga pants and a cute little tee. It also means that as I work I can also spend my time pampering and preening. Obviously, it’s a whole different story if I’ve got places and events to go to. I don’t always look like I’m homeless.

The other week I was sent three gorgeous looking face masks to try. I don’t have oily skin and rarely have break-outs but I really love a face mask. There’s something so chilled about throwing one on and sitting back relaxing so I was thrilled to try Ooharr’s range they had sent me.

I ran myself a hot bath bubbly bath using my Treaclemoon bath & shower gel in Marshmallow Hearts for a gorgeous scent, lit some lavender tea lights and opened my Rosie Glow by Ooharr face mask.

Rose-tinted face masks

It was a thick rose-tinted paste which I loved, it smelt gorgeous and I applied it all over my face and left it whilst I climbed into the bath and began to write yet more posts (I mostly write in the bath – you can read why here).

15 minutes passed and as the mask was drying out I felt it tightening. I knew it was working wonders as all great face masks tighten as they work. Another favourite face mask of mine is called Restoriix and it contains charcoal and zeolite. First of all, zeolite, if you don’t know, is lava, in its cooled down state. I really recommend that as a detox mask, plus it arrives in powdered form so you’re able to drink it too to clean your insides.

All the ingredients

Back to Rosie Glow though, it’s a natural clay mask contains specifically added ingredients with specific properties these include:

  • Natural Clay, this helps detoxify and draw out impurities within the skin.
  • Montmorillonite which acts as a toner for the skin, this tightens pores and revitalises your complexion.
  • Glycerine, which has been found to have great moisturising and hydrating properties.
  • Bentonite Clay, this too draws out impurities. Helping unclog pores and absorb excess oil. Clearing congested skin and can help to tighten fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Sweet Almond, which is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E. Full of monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids. Ooharr add this to help condition skin and promote a youthful, healthy complexion.
  • Shea Butter, which is well known to moisturise, reduce inflammation and helps skin to appear smoother and softer.
  • Argon Oil again it is intensely moisturising. A great antioxidant and contains vitamin A and E, which can help protect skin.
  • Geranium, which is an essential oil, which helps balance the oil production of skin and helps, keep it supple.
  • Marula Oil – it contains antioxidants that help protect skin from environmental damage.

Even more quality ingredients

  • Sunflower Oil, not for cooking but it’s high in vitamin E to help lock in moisture and keep skin feeling soft.
  • Palmarosa Essential oil, which is a great rejuvenating, and regenerating product to promote healthy cell growth and help repair damaged skin caused by ageing.
  • Rose Essential Oil can help moisturise and hydrate skin and aids reducing inflammation and redness.
  • Rosehip Oil, one of my favourites. It’s high in vitamin C and has great rejuvenating and regenerating properties.
  • Rosemary, which I didn’t know but is a natural antiseptic. Making it an effective acne treatment whilst helping the skin regenerate, reducing any signs of scarring.
  • Dead Sea Salts are finally added to help detoxify soften and moisturise the skin. Once I had read up on the mask and it’s properties it was time to remove it. I used a warm wet flannel and in a circular motion I rubbed it off. My skin was left soft, detoxed and looking well looked after.

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Drying my face and preparing for bed I applied some of the same serum which is Khloe Kardashian’s new favourite, Jouve. It was massive at the Oscars and the Grammys. Don’t know the power of Jouve? Why not discover it here. You’ll not want to miss out!

My cousin (easier to explain this way – really she’s my Mum’s Goddaughter) is at that age where she has a few breakouts and is conscious of keeping her skin looking flawless. She’s also a super keen vlogger. She makes and edits all of her own videos, which is extremely impressive for a 12-year-old! You can watch her fabulous review of the Dead Sea Cooler below.

So, consequently, we agreed that the face masks were fabulous, and priced at £1.20 were extremely good value for money especially as they are full of natural minerals and vitamins.
