When my skin is misbehaving, when I want to perfect a ‘night-out face’, or when I just can’t be bothered with a full face of slap, concealer is the wonder product that saves me every time – there are not many other products that I just can’t go without! I like to keep a good variety of concealers in my stash, as they all have their own strengths (and weaknesses) and uses. I wanted to share with you all my favourite concealers of the moment, and tell you why they’re a staple for my make-up collection all year around!
No.1 Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
A bit of a newbie to the beauty world, this Urban Decay concealer is the magic combination of lightweight and great, even medium coverage. Although I have dry skin under my eyes I don’t find this drying at all. They have an amazing colour range, and other products in the same range.
I use this beauty when I’ve had a bad night’s sleep and need an instant pick me up! It’s also a great finisher on top of full coverage foundation, allowing you to conceal more stubborn areas without looking cakey!
No.2 Revlon Colorstay Concealer
One of the best high street ranges I’ve ever used, Colorstay by Revlon is well established in the beauty world as a diamond in the rough!
Just like Colorstay the foundation, this concealer has amazing coverage and staying power! It’s my work-day go-to, for those days when I’m not at all awake, but don’t want to look that way!
It’s shade range is limited, and the lightest shade is still a little too dark for me, but when I’m wearing tan it’s the perfect match! I’ve been known to wear this one on its own without foundation, as it blends perfectly into nothing around the edges!
No.3 Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Not to be shady, but this is one of the only Collection products I have liked – it’s amazing! I know this is a make-up essential for so many people I know and has been all over beauty blogs and videos for years now, and for good reason!
For a high street product, the coverage of this concealer is insane! Like the urban decay concealer, it’s still quite lightweight and lasts really well throughout the day. It’s one of the cheapest concealers available in places like Boots and Superdrug, yet it’s head and shoulders better than most concealers you’d find in even high end ranges! I have to confess I have 5 of this beauty at the moment – I can’t be without it!
No.4 Maybelline Age Rewind Eye Concealer
Another one from the beauty bloggers favourites list! I think this is intended for older skin, and so has an amazingly hydrating finish. Like I mentioned earlier, my eyes can be a little dry so it’s a treat to wear something that I can trust wont crust up and make my eyes look even worse throughout the day.
Like the Collection concealer, the shade range is a little restricted, and the lightest shade I still a little dark for my normal pale skin, but when I’m wearing my tan it looks great! I like to wear this when I have a full-but-light face of make up on, usually at the weekend. I love how weightless it always feels!
No.5 Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer
I have been using this life-saver for years now, and think I might have to crown it my all-time favourite! This stuff is my life saver for a number of reasons!
It works beautifully with foundation, and will cover just about anything! It’s a lit thicker in consistency than the others in this round up, being more of a paste than a liquid concealer. My shade, NC 15, is perfect for my natural skin tone (it’s more yellow toned). I love to use this…well, anytime! It takes a little more effort to blend than a liquid would, but it’s so worth it! I love that it stays in place and with a little powder, never creases too much. Whether you have problem skin with lots to cover up, or you just want a reliable redness cover – this is the stuff for you!
I hope you enjoyed this round up of my current favourite concealers! Feel free to visit my blog for more current faves!
A huge thank you to Laura for allowing me to guest post on her blog – I’m honoured!
